Security and Reliability

The Infrafon CC2 Smart Badge is centrally managed through the Infrafon Entity Server (IES), ensuring full control and monitoring. User interaction is limited to the touchscreen and three capacitive navigation buttons to enhance security. Because location-based access control is mandated or recommended in certain industries (e.g., healthcare, government, or critical infrastructure), features like geofencing, alarms, and automatic disabling of NFC or Bluetooth-based FIDO authentication (2.4 GHz) can be triggered via configurable IES rules. A dedicated hardware-based Secure Element enables onboard key generation, ensures secure certificate storage, and supports encrypted communication.

 

Smart Firmware Instead of Complex OS

Unlike devices running Android or iOS, the CC2 uses a lightweight, efficient firmware. This allows for optimal resource usage and fast responsiveness. Its open architecture, with µPython and MQTT support, makes it easy to integrate and customize for diverse environments and applications.

 

Integration and Management

The Infrafon Entity Server (IES) offers a centralized platform for configuring, monitoring, and updating devices. With the IES Designer, user interfaces and DataViews can be built quickly—no coding required—enabling tailored solutions for specific operational needs.
